    • Chronic irritation of the mucus membrane

    Leukoplakia can also be associated with diseases of the mouth.  Lesions can also be found in almost 3% of the world’s population.  This goes to show that this disease can be a pretty common among the many countries of the world.

In addition to this, it can also be associated with certain types of oral candidiasis.  The common age group of the afflicted patients would be 40 to 70 years old.

    • First, you must avoid all the predisposing factors that can cause the disease.  Smoking, drinking alcohol and the like.

    A biopsy should be done in case lesions are found within the oral cavity.  Through this, you can find out if the lesions found are cancerous or not.  It would also help you to make sure that you stay safe against the various complications that may arise together with the disease.
