Being obese or being too fat for your age comes with a lot of consequences. There are a lot of people all around the world who are obese and they have serious health problems. If you have this type of condition, it can significantly lessen your life expectancy. In other words you can really die young if you continue to be obese and illnesses come to haunt you.
Here are some of those obesity related health problems that come with you over time:
- Type 2 Diabetes comes to obese people sometimes. They develop a resistance to insulin which regulates the levels of blood sugar. If this lengthens to a bit of time, the sugar that you have can really cause real serious damage to your body.
- High blood pressure or heart disease is a pretty common illness with obese people. The weight that is too much for the body can strain the ability of the heart to function normally. If you get high blood pressure sometimes, this could cause strokes and as well inflict significant heart and kidney damage.
- Osteoarthritis of weight – bearing joints can occur when there is additional weight placed on joints most particularly on the knees and hips. If that happens, it results to a wear and tear process and can come along with pain that is caused by inflammation. The bones and muscles of the back are also constantly strained, resulting in disk problems. There are more pains and your mobility is decreased.
- Pauses in breathing while asleep or respiratory problems could occur too. The fat deposits in your tongue and neck can make a makeshift obstruction of the air passage. This could increase when you lie on your back and you might find yourself waking randomly just to reposition yourself. The result would be fatigue and drowsiness in daytime.
- You can also have heartburn or also known as gastroesophageal reflux. Although your stomach acid only belongs in the stomach and never really causes trouble there are times when it comes up to your esophagus and that is called heartburn. It’s sometimes caused by indigestion and too much eating. If you have too much gastroesophageal reflux, that’s very dangerous because it can sometimes cause esophageal cancer.
- Being obese or overweight can mostly cause serious depression. They are teased upon, looked down upon, disapproval and so much negativity from the public. It can cause depression and would be a great hurt to their psychological structure.
- Obesity also causes infertility or reduction of chances to have a baby.
- Sometimes obesity can cause stress in urinary bladder. It causes them to weaken, leading to leakage of urine with coughing, sneezing or laughing.
- Obesity is one cause also for menstrual irregularities. Some of these women who are heavily obese often have these interruptions in the menstrual cycle and it can come with a lot of pain.
What is my advice? Start doing exercises and proper eating to lessen your fats and lead a proper healthy lifestyle.
